Martha Jean Shutler 94, of Ravenna formerly of Martins Ferry, passed away Thursday June 29, 2023, at the home of her daughter. She was born July 5, 1928, in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late Perry B. and Mabel Grace (Scammel) Conway.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Martins Ferry, a graduate of Bridgeport High School class of 1946, she loved flowers and gardening, and her children grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Edmund L. Shutler Sr. in 1999, her siblings Paul Stratton, Katherine Goodwin, Betty Abrigg, Mabel Alwine, Nancy Irwin, and Pat Bosley.

Martha is survived by her children Edmund L. (Vickie) Shutler Jr. of Bridgeport, Elizabeth (Rex) Bennington of Ravenna, 5 grandchildren Zac (Kara) Shutler, Josh (Shay) Shutler, Ben (Brooke) Shutler, Dustin (Andrea) Bennington, and Larissa Bennington, 8 great grandchildren Christian, Cooper, Luke, Leah, Hunter, Bentley, Lily, and Isabelle, also several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home Heslop Chapel 415 Walnut St. Martins Ferry on Monday July 3, 3023, from 10 am till time of Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 12 noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church Martins Ferry, with Fr. Tom Marut as celebrant, interment in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove.
