Martha (Surowka) Nagy, 98, formerly of Blaine, Ohio, passed Friday April 8, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Wheeling, WV. She was born in El Dorado, IL on July 23, 1917, a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Schmitt Surowka. She was a member of the Hungarian Lodge; a retired employee with 21 years of service at Stone & Thomas Tea Room, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Frank Nagy, a son George Nagy Sr. and numerous siblings. Martha is survived by sons: Frank (Geri) Nagy of Lansing, Richard (Ann) Nagy of FL, Steve (Kay) Nagy of Blaine; daughters: Helen (Edward) Hitchman of Wheeling, Martha Fisher of FL, Judy Flanegin of Blaine, Fran (Ron) Kope of Wheeling, Suzie Nagy of Bellaire, Mary (Dick) Lyle of Bridgeport, eighteen grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio where service will be held Wednesday April 13, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. John Mucha officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 1251 Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003. Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Blaine.
