Martha A. (Payton) Lyons, 71, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. She was born May 31, 1947 in Wheeling a daughter of the late Charles F. and Wilma (Pearsol) Payton.

Martha was a member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry.

Surviving are her husband, Sherman Lyons, children; Kathy Howell of Martins Ferry, Rachel (James Roth) Scott of Belmont, OH and Lisa A. Scott of Newark, OH, a sister, Mary (Edward) Wagner of Yorkville, OH and grandchildren; Cameron and Logan Smith.

Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 at the First Christian Church, 710 S. Zane Hwy., Martins Ferry, OH at 10:00 a.m. with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Project Forward Fund.
