Mary Ellen Barkeloo, 79, of Barnesville, Ohio died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab. She was born April 23, 1935 in Neffs, Ohio to the late John R. and Mary V. Jefferis. She married D. Edgar Barkeloo September 23, 1961 and he survives. Also surviving are her daughters, Brenda Barkeloo and Sharon Barkeloo both of Barnesville, OH and Patricia (Mark) Millen of Ellicott City, MD; two grandchildren, Matthew and Katherine Millen; and many nieces and nephews. Mary Ellen's parents and two sisters, Phyllis Logan and Janet (Will) Asbury preceded her in death. She was a 1953 graduate of Barnesville High School and a graduate of Mount Carmel College of Nursing and OSU. A long time Bexley, OH resident, she worked as a nurse for many years at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Grant Hospital, and St. Anthony Hospital. After moving to Cape Coral, FL, she continued nursing at Lee Memorial Hospital. Mary Ellen was a tireless volunteer and enjoyed leading several Girl Scout troops, as well as fundraising and event organizing for the Women's Association of the Columbus Symphony. She loved music, traveling, her family, and had a special love for her extended family. Family and friends will be welcome to visit, Sunday, from 2 to 5 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. A Vigil Service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, with Father Dave Cornett presiding, Monday 11 a.m., Assumption Catholic Church, 306 W.
