Mary Jane Deaton, 85, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at her home. She was born June 21, 1928 in Barnesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Taylor F. Hayes and Nancy S. Davis Hayes. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and was known for making the best pies and all made with love. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon "Bun" McLaughlin; second husband, Charles Deaton; step-son, Stewart Deaton; six sisters; and one brother. Mary is survived by her children, Fred McLaughlin of Barnesville, Ohio, Victor "Peri" (Abegail) McLaughlin of Sewellsville, Ohio, Sheila Deaton of Charlestown, Indiana, Kelly (Howard) Blecher of Flushing, Ohio, Wendy (Scott) Willison of Barnesville, Ohio; grandchildren, Darrin, Lucca, Ian, Tyler, Kyle, Norah; great-grandchildren, Lily, Ivy, Liam; several nieces and nephews; special niece, Beth Burkhead (Charlie Moore); and special nephew, Donnie (Marilyn) DeVoy. Family and friends may visit Friday from 4 to 8 pm and Saturday from 10 am until the time of service, beginning at 11 am, Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Pastor Bob Merritt officiating. Interment will follow at Sewellsville Cemetery, Sewellsville, Ohio.
