Mary (Szabo) Jacob, 95, formerly of Michigan Ave, West Lawn, Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. She was born Oct. 5, 1913 in Com Hoghiz, Romania a daughter of the late Mike and Lydia (Kovacs) Szabo. Mary was a retired employee of Feher-Jacob Wholesale Meats, Martins Ferry. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and the American Hungarian Cultural Society both of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Mike Jacob, and a sister Anna Kovacs. Surviving are three daughters Helen (Bill) Bodnar of Rayland, OH, Marsha Simon, and Anna (Frank) Noble , a son Mike (Connie) Jacob all of Martins Ferry, thirteen grandchildren Sharon Blackbird, Joe (Lu Ann) Bodnar, Lori (Rich) Brothers, Chris (MegAnn) Noble, Craig (Lorene) Noble, Steve Noble, Michael (Wendy) Jacob, Tim (Amy) Jacob, Lance (Nikki) Jacob, Richard (Karen) Duncan, Jim (Julia) Duncan, Scott (Kim) Simon, and Suzanne (Greg) Riggs, and twenty-seven great grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm with Rev. Thomas N. Thomas officiating at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH.
