Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Barnes, 89, passed away on August 11, 2024 at her daughter's home in Georgia.  She was born in Belmont, Ohio on January 21, 1935, a daughter of the late George and Lucille (Shultz) Kemp.

Mary retired from AT&T as a phone operator.  She was a Christian woman who belonged to the Friends Church.  Her favorite hobby was going on cruises and traveling the world.  She played the piano, liked to bowl, and enjoyed watching the Wheel of Fortune.  She also made the best Waldorf Astoria Red Velvet Cake.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Harry Hall and David Barnes; brothers, Richard and Kenneth Kemp.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Shari (David) Douglas; grandson, Benjamin Curry; step-son, Mike Barnes; sisters, Shirley Jenewein, Patty (Bobby) Falconer, Sandy (Fred) Wees, Barbara Wright, Penny (John) Morris, Cindy Mako; brothers, Jim (Nancy) Kemp, Melvin (Judy) Kemp, Robert (Betty) Kemp, Steven (Sherry) Kemp, Danny Kemp plus many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 10am to the time of service at 1pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, 322 N. Main St., Bethesda, Ohio 43719.  Pastor Tim Snyder will be officiating.  Burial will follow at the Ebenezer Cemetery.
