Mary L. (McPeak) Welshans, 85, of S. Third St., Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born Jul. 30, 1923 in Martins Ferry a daughter of late Frank and Mable V. (Pasco) McPeak. She retired as Director of the Martins Ferry Head Start Program and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James F. Welshans, a daughter Shirley A. Ross, two brothers Frank and Bryan McPeak, and a grandson Norman Lekien. Surviving are a son Darryl (Paulette) Miller of Salem, IN, three daughters Carolyn (Harry) Lekien of Palm Coast, FL, and Linda (Alfred) Dolfi and Sharon Blount both of Martins Ferry, OH, eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday 7-9 pm and Wednesday, August 27, 2008 from 10:00 am until time of services at 11:00 am at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where Rev.
