Obituary

Mary Madlyn (Bailey) Roden Borton, Mary went home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2014. She was born October 24, 1935 in St Mary's WV. She is survived by her husband Charles W. Borton, three sons and four daughters, Mrs. Jeff (Cynthia) Corbett Alliance, Ohio; Mrs. Edison (Barbara) Carson Velez Barbosa, Canal Winchester ,Ohio; Robert W. (Pamala Bucy) Roden Jr. Cortland, Ohio; David M.(Beth Cunningham)Roden, Delaware, Ohio; Mrs. Mark (Margaret) Ringle Beavercreek, Ohio; Mrs. David(Tamera) Davis High Point, North Carolina; and Brian L.(Jacqueline Starr Pauley) Roden Howard, Ohio. 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. William (Lucy) Snyder of Fairmont, WV., A brother, Mr. Clarence D. Bailey of St. Mary's WV, and sister- in- law Mrs. Robert ( Ruth) Davis of St. Mary's WV., and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Finley United Methodist Church in Steubenville , Ohio for 54 years. She volunteered on numerous committees and loved working with the youth and mission groups. For the last ten years, she has lived with her husband Charles in Quaker City, Ohio, and they both attend His Living Word Ministries church in Moorefield, Ohio. She worked 28 years for the Lancias Retirement facilities before retiring in 2007. She volunteered for Hospice in Steubenville, Ohio. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary served God, family, and her community with unconditional love. She will be missed by all.She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel F. Bailey and Mary E (Patterson) Bailey, her first husband of 41 years, Robert William Roden Sr., three sisters (Betty Naomi McMillian, Bessie Nunamaker, and Shella Eugene Wolfe) and three brothers (Roy Brooks Bailey, Samuel Eugene Bailey and Blair Brian Bailey).A special thank you to her oncologist, Dr. James Sabiers and his staff in Kettering Ohio, as well as Dr. Wendy Schmitz and the staff at Hospice of Dayton, Ohio, for all their support and care over the past several years during Mary's illness.Funeral Services will be at Finley united Methodist Church 958 Lincoln Avenue Steubenville, Ohio 43952 on Saturday August 30, 2014. Visitation will begin at 10:00am with services following at 12:00 noon, interment in Oakland Cemetery Mingo Junction, Ohio.
