Mary Jane (May) Ruckman Calvert, 65, of Martins Ferry, OH died Saturday, Mar. 2, 2013 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born Dec. 29, 1947 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Henry A. and Minnie (Woods) May. Mary Jane was a Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Wife. She was a retired registered nurse and former childbirth educator. Mary Jane was a member of the Ohio Valley Medical Center Nursing Alumni Assoc. and was an active member of Thoburn United Methodist Church of St. Clairsville where she sang in the Sanctuary Choir. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald J. Calvert. Surviving are two sons; Stephan (Michelle) Ruckman of Dublin, OH and Matthew Ruckman of Newark, OH, five step-daughters; Paula Ruckman of Everett, WA, Susan Ruckman of Trenton, NJ, Cindy Ruckman of Haymarket, VA, Rebecca Doty of St. Clairsville, and Tammy (Joe) Blaha of Wheeling, WV, two brothers; Emmett (Vina) May of Martins Ferry and Bruce (Debbie) May of Beavercreek, OH; three grandsons; Zachary, William and Henry Ruckman, seven step-grandchildren; Andrea Gdula, Alyssa (Zac) Pata, Aaron Doty, Caitlin Doty, Regan Blaha, Riley Blaha and Ashley Calvert, a good friend Sharon Dickson of Indio, CA and a God child Kori Krob Rosnick. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Tuesday, Mar. 5, 2013, from 11:00 am until time of services at 1:00 pm with Dr. Bradley Call officiating. Burial will be at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Thoburn United Methodist Church music department or the local Hospice of your choice.
