Mary M. Santa, 100, of Barton, Ohio, passed just 2 days before her 101th birthday, Wednesday May 15, 2013 at Wheeling Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wheeling, W. Va., on May 17, 1912, a daughter of the late Steve and Elizabeth Lopuch. Mary was active in the former Barton CWC and St Joseph Catholic Church CWC; a lifelong member of the Barton Fire Department Auxiliary, First Catholic Slovak Ladies Union, Our Lady of Angels CWC, and she was an avid baker and pierogie maker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank Santa; a daughter Mary Margaret Kittel; and a sister Ann Kaiser. Mary is survived by a daughter Carol Snyder and her husband Paul of Colerain, Ohio; a son Frank Santa and his wife Phyllis of Dillonvale, Ohio; grandchildren: Melissa Mackey (fiance' Guy Smith); Paula Santa; and Lynnette (Brian) Faldowski; great-grandchildren: Kayla Mackey (fiancAC. Paul Graham) and Brad Mackey. Friends will be received Friday 2-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio where vigil service will be held at 2:00 p.m. and Barton Fire Department services at 7:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday May 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst, with Revs. John Mucha and Dale Torres, concelebrants.
