TOGETHER AGAIN: Mary Lou Welshans 86, of Adena formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday August 5, 2014 at Autumn Health Care of Adena. She was born January 26, 1928 in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late Jay E. and Bertha (Smith) Messerly. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, she was a assistant buyer for the former Stone and Thomas, a 2500 hour volunteer for East Ohio Regional Hospital Martins Ferry gift shop, the Reid Missionary Society, and the Mt. Pleasant Historical Society In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband George Welshans in 1999, two Sisters Wanda Lee Hagburg, and Marjorie Hores, two brothers Richard Messerly, and Jay Messerly. Mary Lou is survived her daughters Kristy (Robin) Davis of Martins Ferry, Nannette Welshans of Tiltonsville, and Jennifer (Arby) Conn of Springfield, a brother Roger Messerly of Ohio, a sister Wilma Betras of Wheeling, four grandchildren Jeremy (Wendy) and Cassandra Doolin, Ryan Davis, and Rikki Deaton, and one great granddaughter Kiera Doolin. A private graveside service was held at the convenience of the family at Seceded Cemetery Mt. Pleasant, Wilson Funeral Home 154 Second St. Dillonvale assisting the family. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday August 16, 2014 at 11 am at the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church 123 Union St. Mt. Pleasant, Ohio 43939.
