MARY WETZEL, 96, of Brookside, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Wheeling Hospital. She was born April 21, 1913 in Wheeling, the daughter of the late Earl and Sarah (Minahan) Fitzsimmons. Mary was a member of St Anthony Catholic Church in Bridgeport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Wetzel; a son Joseph Wetzel; four brothers, Earl, Milton, Leo and Robert Fitzsimmons; two sisters Marcella Dolan and Adalade Ullom; a daughter in-law Susan Wetzel; and two grandsons David and Michael Wetzel. Mary is survived by four sons, James and his wife Betty of Bridgeport, Paul and his wife Janine of Wheeling, Thomas of St. Clairsville and Martin and his wife Carol of St. Clairsville; a sister Sarah Fitzsimmons of Wheeling; a daughter in-law JoAnn Wetzel of St. Clairsville; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday 5 - 8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, where Vigil services will be held at 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10am at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father John Mucha as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Wheeling.
