Mathew C. Bennett, Jr. Mathew C. Bennett, Jr., 74, of Mt. Pleasant, OH died Sun., Nov. 24, 2002 at home. He was born Oct. 17, 1928 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Mathew C. and Katheryn N. Taylor Bennett, Sr. He was retired from the Martins Ferry Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and a Methodist by faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marie L. Smith Bennett, a daughter Cynthia Lee Bennett, two brothers Donald F. and Bobbie A. Bennett, and a sister Betty Anderson. Surviving are two daughters Katherine Andrews and her husband George of Clinton, TN and Janet Poulain and her husband Craig of St. Clairsville, three sons Donnie Bennett and his wife Elizabeth of Warwood, WV, Matthew C. Bennett, III and his wife Cheryl of Martins Ferry, and Mark A. Bennett of Clinton, TN, three brothers Ronald K. Bennett of Columbus, OH, George F. Bennett of Springfield, OH, and Thomas D. Bennett of Jamestown, OH, two sisters Edith Rhodes of Daytona Beach, FL and Emma Zani of Warwood, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tues. 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wed., Nov. 27, 2002 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Van D.
