Matthew Eric Torbett, 25, of Martins Ferry, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022, in East Ohio Regional Hospital. He was born on February 11, 1997, in Wheeling a son of William Torbett and Valerie (Butler) Maher. He was a 2015 graduate of the Martins Ferry High School and also graduated from Belmont College. Matt enjoyed music, drums, games and loved his cats and treated them like they were his children.

He is survived by his mother, Valerie (Chris) Maher; father, William (Louise) Torbett; siblings, Aleathia Maher, Christopher Maher IV, Hayden Maher, Sara Torbett; an aunt, Faith (Lance Angus) Butler; his fiancé, Madison Britton; an uncle, William (Jakata) Butler; maternal grandparents, William, and Darlene Butler; paternal grandmother, Rita Black and close cousins, Micheal Pitts, and Justin Swegard.

Matt was preceded in death by an aunt, Amy Butler.
