Melissa Marie Dougherty, 71, of Belmont, Ohio passed away at Wheeling Hospital on September 6, 2025.  She was born on May 7, 1954 in Barnesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles and Almeda (Palumbo) Heskett.

Missy was a nurse and a successful real estate agent.  She loved horses her whole life.  She enjoyed taking them on trail rides with her husband, David, at Barkcamp State Park.  She was a dog lover too.  Most of all she loved being with her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are husband, David Dougherty; son, Ryan Dougherty; grandson, Oliver; brother, Charles Heskett.

The visitation will be on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 4pm – 7pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, Bethesda Chapel, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio 43719.  The funeral Service will be on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11am at the funeral home with Rev. John Jackson officiating.  Burial will follow at the Ebenezer Cemetery.
