Melody A. (Wensyel) Cohen, 64, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Friday, August 14, 2015 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born October 19, 1950 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Donald R. and Ruth Ann (Richards) Wensyel. Melody was an avid reader; she loved to write stories about her childhood growing up in the Ohio Valley. Melody was particularly proud to have graduated from Hiram College with a Bachelor's degree in English and Education. Melody retired as an Education Advisor for Florida Atlantic University. Melody loved and enjoyed her family immensely. She raised her only child, Tonya, as a single mother. When talking to others, Melody was often found sharing stories about her daughter and grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Stewart Cohen, her daughter, Tonya (Clarence) Ruff Williams of Aldie, VA, brothers; Donald (Barbara) Wensyel of Martins Ferry, Scott (Melanie) Wensyel of Atlanta, GA, and Sean (Lori) Wensyel of Wellington, FL, sisters; Diana (Bob) Reed of Columbus, OH, Janice McConaghy, Kimberly Riser and Tammy Williams all of Martins Ferry and Robin Wensyel of Lake Worth, FL and grandchildren, Nathan and Mikayla Williams.
