Melvin S. Ewing Melvin S. "Bud" Ewing, 71, of Main St., Florence, Martins Ferry, OH died Aug. 26, 2003 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born Feb. 19, 1932 in Cadiz, OH a son of the late Angela M. Spendal Ewing Bandi and Virgil T. Ewing. He was retired from the former Oak Park Mine of Consol Coal Company, a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and American Legion Post #38 both of Martins Ferry, and a veteran of th U.S. Army Korean War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Mabel E. Ewing and Carol J. Bandi. Surviving are his wife Deanna J. Covington Ewing, two sons Edward (Lisa) Ewing of Farmington and Scott (Julia) Ewing of Astin, PA, a brother Kenneth (Judy) Bandi of Upland Heights, and three sisters Velma Applegarth and Betty (Patrick) McClay both of Martins Ferry, and Mary "Idie" (Arthur) Arnold of Bellaire, and six grandchildren Jessica, Luke, Aaron, Chelsea, and MacKenzie Ewing, and Jacob Wodarcyk. Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services Friday, Aug. 29, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH when Rev. Thomas Magary will officiate. Belmont Co. Council of the American Legion will also conduct military graveside services. Arrangements by Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH.
