Melvin C. Truax, 84, of Concord St., Martins Ferry, OH died Tue., July 13, 2004 at home. He was born Dec. 27, 1919 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Otto B. and Pearl (Hendershot) Truax. He was General Manager for the former Wheeling Antenna Co. and retired as Vice-President of the former TCI Cable TV. Melvin was a member of the Church of Christ of Wheeling and was a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII. Surviving are his wife Irene J. (DePasquale) Truax, a son Todd N. (Kimberly) Truax of Lancaster, OH, a daughter Carol J. (Mauri) Sheer of Kansas City, MO, a sister Reba McMahon of Shadyside, OH, and four grandchildren Jeremy (Kayla) Sheer, Jordan (Erica) Sheer, and Molly B. and Carter Truax. Graveside services were held Friday, July 16, 2004 at 1:00 PM at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH with Minister Ron Stullenbarger officiating. Arrangements by Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Valley Hospice, Midwestern Childrens Home, or Ohio Valley College.
