Michael D. Kies, 64, of St. Clairsville, OH, formerly of Shadyside, OH, died September 20, 2019 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born September 21, 1954 in Martins Ferry, OH, a son of the late Thomas A. Kies and Mary (McGlothlin) Clements.

He was a former supervisor for Herald Star Newspaper.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary E. Harris and brother, Robert Kies.

Surviving are his children; Jessica M. (Brian) Beveridge of Bellaire, OH, Angela E. (Whitney Brown) Kies of St. Clairsville and Michael D. Kies II of Jacobsburg, OH; grandchildren; Mason and Madison Beveridge, siblings; Thomas Kies of Grand Rapids, MI, Edward (Judith) Kies of Topeka, KS, Roger (Pat) Kies of Beaver, PA, and Beverly (Joe) Pawlaczyk of Cincinnati, OH and good friend, Belinda (Applegarth) Kies.

Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where services will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. William O. Webster officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH.
