Michael James McFarland, 54, of Sunset Heights, Ohio, passed Friday February 15, 2013 at home. He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on September 6, 1958, a son of James and Betty Gramatikos McFarland. Michael obtained his Bachelor's degree from Ohio State. He was a member of Bridgeport Rotary Club; the Interact Club of St. John's; Bridgeport Knights of Columbus; and Future Legal Professions Club. Michael truly enjoyed teaching Government, History and Law, at St. John's Central, and he cared deeply about his students. In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by a son Matthew McFarland, two daughters: Kelsey McFarland and Kara McFarland all of Sunset Heights; a brother Jim (April) McFarland, and a niece Haley McFarland, all of Martins Ferry. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday February 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Bellaire, Ohio, with Rev. Dan Heusel, as celebrant.
