Michael "Silk"
Moore
Mar 28, 1952 — Aug 6, 2026
Beallsville
Micheal Wayne Moore, known to most as “Silk,” passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 74 years old.
Born on March 28, 1952 in Barnesville, Ohio, a son of the late Judson and Frances Powell Moore, Micheal lived a life defined by independence, strength, and a deep, abiding connection to the world around him. He was a man of quiet conviction who taught those closest to him how to stand tall, face life's challenges without fear, and forge their own paths.
An avid lover of nature and the open outdoors, Silk found his true peace on the open road and under the open sky. He was a loyal friend, a fiercely protective father, and a deeply cherished grandfather whose spirit and lessons will live on through his family. Though the road ahead feels quieter without him, his roar will live on in the wind, in the outdoors he loved, and in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
In addition to his parents, Silk was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Moore and Eugene Moore.
Left to honor his memory are his loving wife, Barb Moore; his daughter, Hali Moore; his son, Tim McBride; his sister, Mary Francis Bucey; his grandchildren, Ayson McBride, Kohen McBride, Oliver, and Katarina; a few close friends scattered far and wide who were like family to him; also Josh Moore and family who provided care, support, and peace of mind for Silk allowing him to be able to spend his final days in the home that he loved near the creek.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 14 from 5pm until 8pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chapel, Beallsville, where funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15 at 11am with Kim McFarland offering words of comfort.
Interment will follow in Mount Horeb Cemetery.
