Miles D. Smith, 53, of Martins Ferry, OH died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at his home. He was born Apr. 7, 1960 in Birmingham, AL a son of the late Eloise (Strickland) Johnson and Albert Smith, Sr. He graduated in 1979 from Martins Ferry High School where he was known for his gymnastic ability and was a Ohio Valley Gymnastic Champion. Surviving are his special love and best friend Sandy Tarbet, a son Myles Smith, Jr. of Dayton, OH, three sisters; Renea (Larry) Whetstone of Martins Ferry, Vicky (Mike) Crawford of Staunton, VA and Cindy (Keith) Brown of St. Clairsville, OH, two brothers; Carlton Smith of Killeen, TX and Greg (Michelle) Smith of Millbury, OH, nieces; Iesha, Tiana and Ashlee, nephews; Demarcus, Juwan, Jaylon, Aaron and Evan and two special friends William (Bill) and Ruth Green of St. Clairsville. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice.
