Myrtle Belle Carpenter, 91, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Monday, June 2, 2014 at Barnesville Hospital. She was born September 14, 1922 in Belmont, Ohio, daughter of the late Manley O. Kemp and Mary M. Wilcox Kemp. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, with family being her greatest joy. She had worked as a seamstress for many years at the Johnathan and Logan Sewing Factory. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Blanchard J. Carpenter; son, Randy Carpenter; brothers, Clifford and Manley Kemp; and sisters, Inez Butler Wonski and Mary Ogilbee. Myrtle is survived by her sons, Rodney (Susan) Carpenter of Dayton, Ohio, Ray (Nancy) Carpenter of Morristown, Ohio, and Ronald Carpenter of Barnesville, Ohio; grandchildren, Brian Carpenter, Sherry Parnell, and Tristan Carpenter. Family and friends may visit, Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. A Vigil Service presided over by Father Dave Cornett will follow visitation at 8 p.m. A Private Graveside Service presided over by Father Dave Cornett will be conducted Friday, Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio.
