Conaway, Nancy A. 81 of Bridgeport died Sunday January 29, 2012 at her home. She was born December 26, 1930 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, the daughter of the late Isaac G. and Mildred Singhaus Conway. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Thomas Conaway. She graduated from Bridgeport High School on May 26, 1948 and began working the next day in the Secretary's office of the Bridgeport Eagles where she was employed until November 30, 1978. On December 4, 1978 she became a secretary in the Trust Department of Wheeling Dollar Savings and Trust Co. which became Wheeling Dollar Bank and WestBanco Bank from which she retired on September 5, 1997. She joined the Kirkwood Presbyterian Church in 1943 where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, and Elder. She joined the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic on December 10, 1954. She served as Department (State) President in 1965-66, 1969-70, and 2001-02. She also served as National President from 1979-80. She attended all Ohio Department Conventions from 1957 thru 2009 and attended 50 National Conventions. She was also a member of the Daughters of America and Pythian Sisters. Surviving are her cousins including William Walker, and Jeanne Walker Donley both of Adena. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Tuesday January 31, 2012 from 12 noon till time of service at 2 pm, with Rev.
