Naomi J. "Toots" Tennant, 81, of Bridgeport, Ohio died Monday April 18, 2016 at Liza's Place Valley Hospice South, Wheeling West Virginia. She was born June 5, 1934 in Martins Ferry, Ohio a daughter of the late Phillip J. and Mable (Sommers) Deaton. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst and the CWC of the church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph R. Tennant Sr in 2006., brothers Charles, Floyd, and Phillip Deaton, and sisters Lillian Robinson, Lola Burch and Eva Mae Virtue. She is survived by her sons Joseph R. (Elisha) Tennant Jr. of Bridgeport, James A. (Darla) Tennant of St. Clairsville, Jerry D. (Cathy) Tennant of Lansing, Jeffery M. (Marcy) Tennant, and Jack A. (Susie) Tennant both of Bridgeport, brothers; Dale (Marcia) Deaton of Maryland, and Larry (Sylvia) Deaton of Martins Ferry and sisters; Barbara Jako and Darlene Cika both of Martins Ferry, nine grandchildren; Alicia, Joseph III, Scott, Casey, Emily, Jennifer, Tiffany, Jeffrey, and Kaity, and four great-grandchildren Morgan, Tate, and Cruz and Jude. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio on Wednesday April 20th, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, wake service will be recited at 2 pm at the Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church Wolfhurst with Fr. John Mucha as Celebrant, interment will be in in Linwood Cemetery Blaine.
