Obituary

Nelson Lee Gross 81, of Colerain died Sunday February 15, 2015 at Liza's Place Wheeling. He was born July 21, 1933 in Martins Ferry a son of the Late Fredrick W. and Iva (Greer) Gross. He was the former manager of Genuine Auto Parts and a retired employee of the former Ernie's Auto Parts both of Martins Ferry, a veteran of the Korean War in the US Air Force where he was selected for the Strategic Air Command , a member of St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church Colerain. He was a member of the American Legion post 227, and Eagles aerie #995 both of Bridgeport. Nelson is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth "Betty" (Slatterick) Gross, sons Gary Lee (Nancy) Gross of Cincinnati, Charlie Gross of Brookside, and Glenn M. Gross of Colerain, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Wednesday February 19, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 am at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church Colerain, with Fr. Tim McGuire and Fr. Dale Tornes as celebrants, interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Wheeling. Wake service will recited on Wednesday at 2 pm at the Funeral Home. Full Military Honors will be conducted on Thursday at 9 am at the Funeral Home by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
