Obituary

Nicholas George Menedis, 75 of Reynoldsburg, Ohio formerly of Yorkville, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the James Cancer Center in Columbus.

He was a graduate of Yorkville High School, class of 1966. A proud graduate of The Ohio State University and Capital University Law School and a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity.

He was born April 20, 1948, in Martins Ferry, the son of the late George Nicholas and Edith (Stakias) Menedis.

Nick was a retired Human Resources Attorney, he was a member of the Peace United Methodist Church in Pickerington, Ohio, and the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life-Giving Fountain in Martins Ferry. He was a Mason and member of the Masonic Lodge, and the Eagles of Reynoldsburg, he was a coach for First Tee organization, with the Down Syndrome Association  of Central Ohio, he coached several sports with the Special Olympics, Leader of the Multiple-Myeloma support Group for the Cancer Support community of Central Ohio, a speaker for Multiple-Myeloma Groups across the nation, he was an avid golfer and Ohio State fan, as well as a member of Peace Church Men's Bible Study Group.  Nick was a man of many talents and interests; however, his greatest joy came from traveling with his family and working around his house.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane I. (Sandru) Menedis.

Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are his loving wife, Sandra (Jokovich) Menedis, his children; Jennifer (Dwayne) Condon of CT, Natalie (Brian) Stocker of Columbus, stepdaughters; Melissa (Tony) Bausch, Kristen (Jude) Schramm both of Cincinnati, David Sutton of home, foster daughters; Melissa Young and Brooke Junkins, grandchildren; Nicholas , Sophia and Patrick Condon, Caitlin Martins, Rachel, Trevor and Jillian Stocker, Sydni (Liam) Sheehy, Nathan and Isaac Schramm, brother; Gregory (Vicki) Menedis and sister; JoAnn (Nick) Voyiatt as well as many close cousins and extended friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry. The Trisagion service will be at 7pm at the funeral home. Funeral will be Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11am at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life-Giving Fountain in Martins Ferry with Fr. Constantine Makrinos officiating. Burial to follow at the Holly Memorial Garden Mausoleum in Pleasant Grove.

There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony in Columbus at the convenience of the family at a later date.
