Nick R. Bernardo, 57, of Yorkville, OH died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 at Ohio Valley Medical Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born Jan. 8, 1954 in Martins Ferry, OH a son of the late Louis S. Bernardo and Betty (McFarland) Dietrich. He was an employee of the Follanbee plant of R. G. Steel. Nick was also a avid Steeler, and Ohio State Buckeye Fan who loved spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are his wife Dena (Trouten) Bernardo, a son Joseph Bernardo of Yorkville, OH, two step children Paige Atwood of Yorkville and James Atwood of Mt. Pleasant, OH, a sister Lou Ann Vacik of Jefferson, OH, and a nephew Michael Winski of Jefferson, OH. Friends will be received Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, from 2:00 pm until time of services at 6:00 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH with Pastor Jim Monogioudis officiating.
