Nick Stankovich, Sr., 87, of Main St., Florence, Martins Ferry, OH died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at Heartland-Lansing Nursing Home, Bridgeport, OH. He was born Dec. 10, 1925 in Duncanwood, OH a son of the late Pete and Josephine (Rogel) Stankovich. He was retired from the Peace Township. He was a member of the American Legion Post #38, Martins Ferry and a veteran of the U. S. Army, Korea Conflict. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Julia (Fedorko) Stankovich and two brothers; George Stankovich and Svetozar Koisich. Surviving are his son Nick (Sheryl) Stankovich, Jr. of Colerain, OH, a daughter Susan Ann Stankovich of Charlotte, NC, three grandchildren; Nickolas Stankovich, Ron and Nicole Dentz, and a great grandchild Ron Dentz, III. Friends will be received Monday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at 10:00 am with Rev. F. Rade Merick officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
