Obituary

NORMAN ""BUD"" RUSSELL, 69, of Bridgeport, died Monday, December 28, 2009 at his home. He was born August 29, 1940 in East Liverpool, Ohio, the son of the late Carl and Juanita (Talbot) Russell. Bud was a retired teacher with the Bellaire City Schools and the Jefferson Community College in Steubenville. He was a member of the Kirkwood First United Methodist Church where he was Chairperson of the Administrative Council. He was a Ham Operator since 1955 and was the Ham Operator Emergency Coordinator for Belmont County E.M.A... He was President of the Eastern Ohio Amateur Wireless Association and a member of the Ohio County ARES. He was a member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #181 F&AM, the Bellaire Chapter #107 and the Council of the Royal Arch Masons. Bud is survived by his wife, Joan (Morgan) Russell; a son, Patrick Russell of Richmond, KY; a brother, James Russell and his wife Barbara of Bellaire; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 am with the Reverends David Demarest and James Hoff officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to Kirkwood First United Methodist Church, 405 Bennett St., Bridgeport, Ohio 43912
