Oliver M. "Ollie" Negus, 91, of Negus Rd., Martins Ferry, OH died Tue., Mar. 30, 2004 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born May 5, 1912 in Colerain Twp. a son of the late Albert I. and Myra (Yost) Negus. Ollie was the retired owner/operator of Negus Dairy Farm. He was a member of the Colerain Presbyterian Church; Colerain Ruritan; honorary member of the Colerain Volunteer Fire Dept.; 46 yr. member of Martins Ferry Rotary; 60 yr. member of Ohio City Lodge #486 F. & A. M., Martins Ferry; Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville; Belmont Co. Farm Bureau, and a past member of the Martins Ferry City School District Board of Education. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Edna L. (Morris) Negus, two brothers Albert and Edward Negus, and a sister. Surviving are a daughter Patricia (John) Thornburg of Spring Hill, FL, a brother Fred Negus of Ft. Atkinson, Wisc., two grandchildren Sherree (Mark) Ecker and Douglas (DeEtta) Stobbs, three great grandchildren Colleen, Bridey Lynn, and Angela, and a good buddy Jim Bain. Friends will be received Wed., 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Thur., Apr. 1, 2004 at 10:30 AM with Rev. John A. Brown officiating. Burial follows in Friends Cemetery, Colerain. Masonic Ritualistic services will be held Wed. at 7:00 PM followed by Rotarian services at 7:30 PM both in the funeral home.
