Opal M. (Groves) Alltop, 86, of Martins Ferry, OH died Mon., Sept. 17, 2007 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born Dec. 5, 1920 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Walter and Ocie (Gump) Groves. She was the retired co-owner of the former Alltop Moving & Storage Co. of Martins Ferry. Opal was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Degree of Pocahontas Wenola Council #51 both of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Russell E. Alltop, a son Daniel R. Alltop, her brother Herbert N. Groves, and two grandchildren Tracy Alltop and Richard Alltop, Jr. Surviving are four sons William Alltop, Russell Alltop, Jr., Richard (Ruth) Alltop, and Thomas (Patty) Alltop all of Martins Ferry, two daughters Linda (Richard) Armstrong of Lady Lake, FL and Kathy (George, Jr.) Shultz of Martins Ferry, OH, eight grandchildren Tawnya Kidd, Lisa Vassey, Brandy Heagy, Melissa Alltop, Tiffany Nisperly, and Heather, Alisha and Stephen Alltop, and five great grandchildren Ashlei Beaird, Jerrad Kidd, Savannah Finley, and Breanna and Wyatt Cunningham. Friends will be received Thursday, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 at 1:00 PM with John Oliver officiating .
