Obituary

Otto W. Brown, 73 of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022, in East Ohio Regional Hospital. He was born on January 2, 1949, in Martins Ferry, a son of the late Otto Brown and Mary (Gumiela) Brown. He was a proud graduate of St. John Central High School and West Liberty University.  He was retired as a Medical Technologist from Trinity West Hospital and was a committed Elks Lodge and Knights of Columbus member.  Otto was a Cleveland Browns and Ohio State University Buckeye fan and could often be found fishing.  Most of all, Otto cherished spending time with family and friends, sharing his life stories and telling his infamous jokes.

Otto is survived by his wife of 50 years Kathy (Klatt) Brown; son Chad (Debbie) Brown of Newark, OH; beloved grandchildren Matthew and Hailey as well as a brother-in-law, Fred Abraham of Wheeling, WV.

In attention to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Virginia (Dick) Dobson of Bellaire, Marjorie (Dave) Neavin of Martins Ferry and Dorothy Abraham of Wheeling, WV.

Friends may call Wednesday August 31, 2022 from 3-7 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 1 at 11AM at St. Mary Church in Martins Ferry with Fr. Thomas Marut officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
