Owen L. Hemphill, 82, of Skyview Dr., Martins Ferry, OH died Wed., May 31, 2006 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born June 25, 1923 in Tarentum, PA a son of the late Ira L. and Ethel (Barnwell) Hemphill. He was a retired salesman for Bostich, Inc. Owen was an elder of the Colerain Presbyterian Church, Colerain, OH and a member of Belmont Lodge #16 Free &Accepted Masons of St. Clairsville, OH and the former Martins Ferry Lions Club. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Vivian Vincent and three brothers Edward, Bernard, and Lawrence Hemphill. Surviving are his wife Emma L. (Bray) Hemphill, two sons Greg L. (Nadia) Hemphill of Tyngsboro, Mass. and Dan O. (Fiancé-Karen Lombardo) Hemphill of Martins Ferry, a brother Lee Hemphill of Alliance, OH, two sisters Iris Hunter of Scottsdale, PA and Pat (Walter) Vincent of Paris, OH, and two grandchildren Scott (Stacia) Hemphill and Sarah T. Hemphill. Friends will be received Fri. 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Rev. John A. Brown officiating. Entombment follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Masonic Ritualistic Services will be held Friday at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
