Patricia Ann Ayers, 85 of Martins Ferry, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, in East Ohio Regional Hospital. She was born on October 7, 1936, in Wheeling a daughter of the late Charles S. Gillespie and Anna G. Pappert. Patty was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Matins Ferry, retired from the Ayers Limestone Quarry Inc, was a former officer of the Hanover Fuel Stop and she had a strong love of animals.

She is survived by her son, John (Brittany) Ayers; and two grandsons, Gage Ayers, and Roger Jennette.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 50 years, Thomas E. Ayers in 2017; a daughter, Anna Ayers an infant son, Baby Tommy; and three sisters, Bernice M. Syrylo, Rosemary C. Blum, and Dolores M. Dajchak.

Friends may call Friday from 10 am to 12 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry. Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 pm in the funeral home with Reverend James Hoff officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
