Patrick F. McClay, 81, of Washington Blvd, Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 at Liza's Place, Wheeling, WV. He was born Mar. 17, 1928 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Francis and Bertha (Burns) McClay. He was a retired crane operator for the Martins Ferry Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Pat was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry, Wheeling Eagles, and a life member of the V.F.W. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty (Ewing) McClay in 2008 and his brother William McClay. Surviving are two sons Mike McClay of Martins Ferry and Ron (Elaine) McClay of Streetsboro, OH, two daughters Cherie Frazier of Martins Ferry and Nancy (Mike) Dvorcek of Jacksonville, FL, and six grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009 at St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry with Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating.
