Paul McDonald LongMarch 9, 1930 ~ December 14, 2010Gas City "" Retired Command Sgt. Major of U.S. Army, Paul M. Long, 80, went to be with his Lord and wife, Elvie, at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2010, in his residence. He was born in Marshall County, West Virginia on March 9, 1930 to the late Leslie and Loretta (Snedeker) Long. He married Elvie L. Barnes on January 29, 1963 and she preceded him in death. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Jonesboro and had previously been a member of the Presbyterian Church of Warnock, Ohio. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and had a deep love for his family. Special thanks to the Northwood Manor and New Hope Hospice Angels.Survivors include children, Patricia McDermott, Redford, MI, David (Karen) McElheney, Virginia Beach, Bonnie Sue (Michael) Webb, Gas City, Pamela (John) Winship, Castleberry, FL; sisters, Anita (Edward) Miller, Bethesda, Ohio, Barbara Long, Moundsville, West Virginia, Betty Anne Miller, Barnsville, Ohio, Virginia Blackledge, Canton, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Private service and inter4ment will be held at the convience of the family.
