Paula Jo Ward, 74, of Martins Ferry, OH died Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Park Health Center, St. Clairsville, OH. She was born Jan. 26, 1942 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late George M. and Virginia A. (Jones) Goad. She was employed by the former Three Gaynors Restaurant and retired from Imperial Clevite in Bridgeport, OH. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Martins Ferry where she was their outreach ministry coordinator of the food pantry and clothes closet. Paula was also a member of the American Legion Post #38 Ladies Axillary. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivor C. Ward and her sister, Sandra Sue Goad. She is survived by several cousins including Becky Losey and Gary Bolon and several good friends. Paula loved her many dogs, bingo, neighbors, Purple Riders and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The family would like to thank the very loving, caring staff at Park Health for all their kindness and care. Friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Friday, July 29, 2016, from 11:30 a.m. until time of services at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. John Brandenburg officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to: Belmont County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 115, St. Clairsville, OH 43935.
