Obituary

Pauline Walter passed on May 2, 2017 at age 97. Born April 22, 1920 in Mt. Pleasant Ohio WITH Paul and Maude Thompson as her parents. She attended Marion College (now Indiana Wesleyan College). There she met her future husband Paul Daniel Walter and they married in 1941. During her active life in Pennsylvania, she had many roles. As an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, she was a choir director for 20 years and served on the Methodist Church conference committees of pensions and nominations. As wife of the Dean at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, she served as president of the UPJ Women. She also was President of the Foundation for Campus Ministry at UPJ. Her volunteer activities included serving as president of the Christian Home of Johnstown and did 3 terms as president of the Auxiliary of Arbutus Park Manor. After her loss of her husband of 57 years, she lived in Lubbock, Texas at the Sherick Memorial Home and the Beehive where she had wonderful friends and care. She is survived her son Dr. Paul David Walter and wife Linda, grandchildren Arden and Finney Walter, Kelli and Nathaniel Walter, Jack and Graham Walter and 2 great grandchildren, Hudson and Sadie Walter. Additionally, she has many beloved nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Short Creek Friends Cemetery in Dillonvale, Ohio for friends and family on May 17th, 2017 at 3pm. Wilson Funeral Home, 154 2nd St. Dillonvale, OH assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Beehive Assisted Living, 2105 W. Loop 289, Lubbock, TX 79407.
