Pearl Loretta
Goddard
September 25, 1932 – April 17, 2026
Pearl Loretta Goddard, 93, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, at 8:22 a.m., leaving behind a lifetime of love, warmth, and cherished memories. Born on September 25, 1932, in Bridgeport, Ohio, Pearl spent 71 years in the place she always called home before moving to Roanoke, Virginia, where she lived for the past 22 years.
Affectionately known as "Aunt Toots," Pearl will be remembered for her sweet, fun-loving spirit and the joy she brought simply by being herself. To many, she wasn't just Pearl—she was Aunt Toots, a name that became synonymous with comfort, warmth, and unconditional love. She had a gentle heart and a comforting presence, and she especially loved her baby dolls and stuffed animals, treasures that reflected the innocence and tenderness she carried throughout her life. Those who knew her will always remember her laughter, her warmth, and the way Aunt Toots made everyone feel loved and at ease.
Pearl was very well cared for by the nurses and staff of Berkshire Health & Rehabilitation Center in Vinton, Virginia, who showed her great kindness and compassion. She will be deeply missed by the staff who came to know and love her.
She is survived by her sister, Judith Reineke; her niece, Susan Johnson; her nephew-in-law, Keith Johnson; her niece, Pamela Wood; her nephew-in-law, Steve Wood; her nephew, Rodney Reineke; as well as many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Pearl was preceded in death by her loving parents, Merle Goddard and Vernon Goddard, and her nephew, Richard Reineke.
A funeral service will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home in 920 National Road Brookside, Ohio, on Saturday April25, 2026 from 9:30 till time of service at 10:30, officiated by Pastor Jim Asberry, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate her life. She will be laid to rest at Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain, Ohio.
