Peggy B. (Brown) Van Nest, 77, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH and Wheeling, WV died Wed., Jan. 28, 2004 at the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Woodsfield, OH. She was born Jan. 9, 1927 in London, England a daughter of the late John E. and Lily (Bowman) Brown. Peggy retired from the former L.S. Good & Co. of Wheeling, and was a member of the First U. Methodist Church of Martins Ferry where she was active in the Friendly Class. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles F. Van Nest, five brothers Thomas, John, Sidney, Leonard, and Edward Brown and a sister Lillian. Surviving are a sister Phyliss Brown of Cambridgeshire, England and several nephews and nieces including Mary Lou Patch and her husband Anthony of Beallsville, OH with whom she resided. Friends will be received Sat., Jan. 31, 2004 from 11 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM with Rev. Van D. Fisher officiating at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
