Phyllis Elizabeth (Lyons) Pritt, 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Martins Ferry on Friday, August 14, 2026.

She was proceeded in death by husband Jesse W. Pritt, her father Sherman Lyons, Sr., her mother Agnes (Beech) Lyons, and her baby daughter Victoria Eve. In addition, she was the last of her siblings Marie Banks, David Lyons, Alice Baker, and Sherman Lyons, Jr.

Phyllis was a long-time member of the First Christian Church in Martins Ferry, where in her younger days she participated in the ladies’ circle, widows’ group and visited with the elderly. She was a MFHS Class of 1958 graduate and earned a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from Wheeling Hospital’s nursing program.

Beyond her church life, she enjoyed family reunions, staying connected with her pen pals, and time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved anything chocolate, collecting elephants, had several favorite TV shows, and faithfully supported her local Avon lady. She is lovingly known for her frustrated catch phrase “cuss, cuss, cuss,” in avoidance of actual swear words.

She leaves behind her children Jeff Richie, Rebecca Cornell, and Jessica (George) DiDomenicus; grandchildren Stefanie (Ray) Shorter, Parker Cornell, Contessa DiDomenicus, and Megan Livingston. Her great-grandchildren, Jalen Smith, Mariah Brooks, Holden and Benton Cornell, her nieces and nephews, Chuck (Jackie) Lyons, Bill (Gerry) Banks, Rosie Baker, Ramona Gaughan, Paul (Carol) Baker and the late James Baker, Kathy Howell, Lisa Scott and Rachel (James) Roth, many cousins, great-nieces and nephews, plus grandkids she claimed as her own. Her union with Jesse added a whole new layer of nieces, nephews, and cousins who she enjoyed times with during special occasions.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
