Phyllis Jean (Ruckman) Burkle, 92, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Peterson Rehabilitation Center, Wheeling, WV. She was born June 13, 1926 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late William Edward and Nora (Brown) Ruckman.

Jean was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Martins Ferry.

In addition to her parents she is preceded by her husband of sixty years, Donald W. Burkle, siblings; Jerry Zimmerman and Betty McLaughlin and sons-in-law; Michael McFarland, David Kropp, and David Longenette.

Surviving are her children; Janet (Louis) Hart of Wheeling, WV, Joyce McFarland of Woodbridge, VA, and Leigh Ann Longenette of Stevensville, MD, a sister, Joanne Guire of Wheeling, seven grandchildren; Paige Still, Patrick (Alissa) McFarland, Wendy McFarland, Trevor Kropp, Stephanie Kropp, Kelly (David) Herold and Debbie (John) Johnson, five great grandchildren; Kendall Kropp, Austin Still, Emily Herold, Sophie McFarland and Nathan Herold and sister-in-law Elsie Burkle of Eaton, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will held at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove , OH with Rev. Erica Harley officiating. Arrangements by Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH.
