R. Wade Barr, 60, of St. Clairsville, OH, formerly of Westerville, OH, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born Dec. 14, 1948 in Columbus a son of Nina L. (Theil) Barr and the late Dr. Earl R. "Bob" Barr. He was retired as Director of the North Florida Institute. Wade was a member of the Church of the Messiah United Methodist of Westerville, OH and the NRA. He received his BS in Business from Franklin University, Columbus and an MA in Business from Central Michigan University. Surviving in addition to his mother of Martins Ferry are his wife Deborah (Weickhardt) Barr, a son Matthew E. Barr and a daughter Alison T. Barr both of Columbus, and two brothers David R. (Cheryl) Barr of Columbus and Thomas L. (Mary Jo) Barr of Colerain, OH. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 from 4 pm until time of services at 7:00 pm with Rev. Adrian Sunday officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith in Action Caregivers, 1359 National Rd, Wheeling, WV 26003.
