R. Rupert Dennis, 92, of St. Clairsville, OH, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, Mar. 15, 2015 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born Aug. 24, 1922 in Martins Ferry, a son of the late Roland C. and Rena M. (Forsythe) Dennis. He was retired from the U. S. Post Office as a rural mail carrier for many years and was a member of the Colerain Presbyterian Church, Colerain, OH. Rupert was also a veteran of the U. S. Army, W.W. II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Floren A. (Miller) Dennis, brother, Rylie W. Dennis, sister, Kathleen Spragg and a nephew Larry Dennis.Surviving are his nephews; Bob (Beth) Spragg of Martins Ferry and Winston (Connie) Dennis of Manteno, IL and his nieces; Dolores Dennis Spragg of Adena, OH, Patricia Dennis Wanat of Newark, OH, Kathy (Tong Ha) Spragg Rhee of Bay Village, OH and Helen Dennis of Martins Ferry. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 11:00 am until time of services at 1:00 pm with Pastor Joseph Ellis officiating.
