RALPH D. GRAY, 72, of Martins Ferry, died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at his home. He was born March 18, 1935 in Provo, Utah, the son of the late Ernest and Wanda Davis Gray. Ralph was a retired machinist with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Martins Ferry Plant. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union and the International Association of Machinists as well as a veteran of the United States Navy. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers Blaine, Glen and Nolan. Ralph is survived by his wife Trudy Gray of Martins Ferry; a son Ernie Gray and his wife Brenda of Martins Ferry; two daughters Sue Steuerwald and her husband Chris of Dublin, OH and Diane Balmert of Hilliard, OH; a brother Wesley Smith of Utah and a sister Diane Smith of Utah; ten grandchildren including Trish Ricer and Jill Gray that were raised by Ralph and Trudy; two great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 am with Pastor Scott Ness officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Full military services will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
