Ray D. Scheehle, Sr., 86, of Township Rd., 102, Dillonvale, OH formerly of Pleasant Grove, OH died Mon., May 29, 2006 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH. He was born Aug. 5, 1919 in Scotch Ridge a son of the late Sherman and Pearl (Irwin) Scheehle. He was retired from the Martins Ferry Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. Ray was a Methodist by faith and a member of V.F.W. Post # 8848, Colerain, OH, America Legion Post #38, Martins Ferry, Pleasant Valley Sportsman Club and a veteran of the U.S. Army WW II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Kenneth A. and Donald Scheehle and a sister Mildred Cochran. Surviving are his wife Sophia (Stopera) Scheehle, a son Ray D. Scheehle, Jr. of Martins Ferry, a daughter Sandra (John) Harr of Mt. Pleasant, OH, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Friends will be received Wed., 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Thurs., June 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Elaine Cutlip officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Full military graveside services will be held by the Belmont Co. Council of the V.F.W.
