Ray T. Schrickel, 85, of Mt. Pleasant died Sunday January 25, 2009 at Sunset Health Care in Harrisville. He was born November 27, 1923 in Dillonvale, the son of the late Albert and Emma Zoeckler Schrickel. Ray was a Locomotive Car Foreman for the Norfolk Southern Railroad, a WW II Army veteran, a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Dillonvale American Legion McCook Post 529, and former Past Master of Smithfield Masonic Lodge #182. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his previous wife Eva Louise Heskett Schrickel, two brothers Leland and Howard Schrickel, a sister Alberta Fields, and a grandson Kevin Lee Schrickel. Ray is survived by his wife of nine years Carol, a son Richard of Adena, a daughter Jane Rose and her husband Frank of Toronto, Oh., a sister Velma Hauner of Massillon, four grandchildren; Allison Rose, Amanda Spicer and her husband Brett, Beth DaRe and her husband Dan, Mark Schrickel and his wife Stephanie, three great grandchildren Lauren, Shane, Sydney, three step- children, Renee Parenti and her husband Phil, Misty and Kanoski and her husband Mike, Rick and his wife Dixie, and three step-grandchildren, Paul, Danielle, and Faith. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm with a Masonic Service being held at 7 pm by Lodge 182 at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second Street, Dillonvale. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 am with Reverend James Hildebrand officiating with Full Military services. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church or to Valley Hospice of Wheeling.
