Ray E. West, 64, of Nixon's Run Rd., Martins Ferry, OH, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at Heartland-Lansing Nursing Home, Bridgeport, OH. He was born July 9, 1948 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Milford and Edna L. (Hoffman) West. Ray was a former Chef of Wilson Lodge, Oglebay Park, Wheeling, WV. He was the former chairman of the Betty Zane Days parade and a member of Martins Ferry Historical Society. Ray was a Christian by faith. Surviving are his wife Karen (Rinderer) West of Martins Ferry, his daughters; Rebecca S. (Dave Watkins) West of Martins Ferry, Neva Ryan of Columbus, OH and Patricia Nugent of Martins Ferry, his sister Linda Burch of Martins Ferry and six grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Friday, September 14, 2012, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Thomas N. Thomas officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Condolences to the family may be made by signing the guest book at the top of this page.
